Are you interested in Bavaria and in the history of its capital Munich? This course enables you to study Munich’s story from its medieval origins to the present times within the broader context of Bavarian history. You will get to know primary sources, such as letters, phamplets, caricatures or reports.
You will learn more about historical tools and methods, as well as how to analyse sources, both written and visual. Thus, you will get a close look on how individuals shaped Bavaria throughout the last centuries.
Our course will be taught in English, so proficiency in German is not required. The programme will (maybe) also include single walks through Munich. Every student will be required to give an oral presentation in class (3 ECTS). It is possible to write an essay in addition to the oral presentation (6 ECTS).
