The lecture will introduce students to current research in health economics and health policy with a focus on empirical analysis (including data sources, measurement, and econometric methods). Topics that will be covered include:
– Individual behavior and health outcomes
– Health investments and health in a life-cycle perspective
– Causal links between socio-economic status and health
– The demand for health and health care
– The role of health service providers (physicians, hospitals, etc.)
– Health insurance
